Clamxav uninstall
Worse case is you either ignore that ghost icon in LaunchPad from now on, or visit the Genius Bar to have them take a look. The program allows you to put infected files aside in a specified quarantine location, then tear them and delete them as you. ClamAV would also benefit if it targeted IoT systems better with optimizations for the anti-malware engine, limiting its resource footprint. ClamXav’s two-pronged approach helps it do as well a job as it does. But I’d also look manually in the Applications folder to see what is there. ClamAV would benefit most if it had a larger user base and reported heuristics/threads (if the user decides to opt in). Also a restart may clear up LaunchPad if that is an issue. If this is a third-party app and there is an official uninstaller, you may want to try using that, as it may get rid of the problem. Or, perhaps LaunchPad itself is corrupt now, hopefully in a minor way. Perhaps there is still something of the app left in the Applications folder. If you’re looking for a full-featured antivirus, ClamAV won’t be good for you. It’s not particularly great, although it does have its uses (like as a free antivirus for Linux ). You’ll have to investigate and try things. ClamAV is an open-source antivirus scanner, which can be downloaded on its website. If you set up a special area on your disk called Quarantine, those files will be. Then click Yes to confirm the ClamAV uninstallation process. Select the ClamAV and then right-click, select Uninstall/Change.
#Clamxav uninstall how to
I’m not sure how to delete this icon in LaunchPad because it sounds like something is wrong. ClamXav detected all the viruses on my test Mac, and the program offered by default to delete the infected files. Locate and select the Control Panel menu, then double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. You wanted a clean uninstall, but instead have something left over. Sounds like this is another reason to not use them, as the result here is the opposite of what you wanted. I tell people not to use those app-cleaning apps, but instead to uninstall apps with the proper method (which depends on how you installed the app in the first place).
